AMD dual-core launches
In 2004, AMD demonstrates the first x86 dual-core processor. By 2005, AMD introduces the Turion 64 mobile technology for notebooks and Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor for the desktop. The Athlon brand continues to be extended.
