Gaining speed
The Intel 8080 broke had a clock speed of 2 MHz and 4,500 transistors. By 1978, Intel's 8086 processor was running at 5MHz and 29,000 transistors. The 8088 was introduced in 1979. Here are the 8086 and 8088 side by side.
