Steve Pawlowski, chief technology officer of Intel's Digital Enterprise Group, describes on Wednesday the challenges that led the chipmaker to develop a next-generation chip family called the Intel Core microarchitecture. Intel unveiled the new name and details around Core at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.
