Miles Automotive also makes trucks. The Santa Monica, Calif., company's first products are a series of low-speed vehicles. Although not freeway-legal, slow vehicles that can't go more than 25 or 35 mph are being bought by retirement communities, universities and the U.S. Department of Defense.
