When putting together its plans for the bridge construction, CalTrans built scale models of some of the elements that were big enough for construction crews to get inside of. The idea was to showcase some of the more innovative elements of the construction that were not easily explained in schematics. Here, public information officer Bart Ney shows the scale of one of the model pieces.
