The long-wing Pipistrel warns amateur aviators that they might get infected by the "virus." The Slovenia-built sport planes, which were recently licensed by the FAA, could make good PAVs because they're lightweight and fuel efficient, proponents say.
The Pipistrel contains a glass cockpit that's much lighter and robust than those in commercial aircraft, containing 10 times more data on statistics like flight speed and altitude for the current flight and the last 24 flights.
