Although it has lost market share to Nikon among customers in Japan, according to Tokyo research company BCN, Canon still maintains a substantial lead over Nikon in global sales when it comes to high-end and midprice single-lens reflex cameras. One of the Canon SLRs most anticipated by serious studio photographers is the EOS-1Ds Mark III, which features 21.1-megapixel resolution and five-frames-per-second continuous shooting.
