Hurricane Dean is now a Category 3 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale, moving across the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico with average winds of 125 mph and gusts up to 200 mph as of 5 a.m PDT Tuesday. Hurricane Dean was a Category 5 hurricane, the most-destructive rating, when it hit land on Monday. It is the worst Atlantic storm to make landfall in decades.
