The good: Consistently fast task speeds; great print/scan quality; expandable paper handling and memory; onboard PictBridge port; ADF; network-ready; Brother ControlCenter is flexible and customizable; security feature is great for a multiuser environment.
The bad: No junk fax blocker; no auto duplexer; walk-up scanning options are a bit limited; color printing could use a tiny bit of improvement.
The bottom line: Our quibbles with the Brother MFC-9440CN pale in comparison to the many things we like about it, chiefly its sublime combination of fast speeds with high-quality output. It's currently our favorite recommendation for a small office environment.
