The SLCC masquerade ball, with several hundred attendees, took up an entire ballroom at the massive Chicago Hilton hotel, the convention's headquarters. Other weekend events in Chicago included a triathlon, a Red Sox-Cubs baseball game, and a fantasy football championship. Let's just say the Second Life crowd got some strange looks.
