Submillimeter Array control room
The interior of the Submillimeter Array's control room, pictured here, is pressurized to make it more comfortable for staff and visiting astronomers. One manual warns that "dust masks" may be necessary on the drive. Hale Pohaku offers accommodation for around 70 astronomers in single rooms with private bathrooms.
