Sopogy solar thermal
Interest in solar thermal, or concentrating solar power, to generate electricity from heat is perking up. Hawaiian start-up Sopogy is taking a novel approach by taking the basic trough design of solar thermal power plants and shrinking it down for commercial or relatively small-scale utility use. Its collectors concentrate sunlight onto a tube filled with a liquid to create steam to turn a turbine that makes electricity.
