Zeno was one of the only robotics displays on the Wired NextFest convention floor from an American scientist, David Hansen. The character robot, Zeno, incorporates vision and speech technology, as well as character animation software Massive, which was used to make the movie Lord of the Rings. Its features are also highly lifelike, thanks to Hansen Robotics' patented "flubber," a silicone skin. The company plans to sell Zeno for less than $300 within the next two to three years, according to its founder.
