Photos: Touring Nextfest

Pictured here is a demonstration of a game called Kickass Kung Fu, a virtual fighting simulator made by a couple of computer scientists from Finland. It's not sold yet in the United States, but the game has appeared in installations through Europe. In essence, a Web camera captures the player's image against a blue wall and projects that image into the game. The installed computer vision tracks the player's movements, translating it into punches and kicks against virtual fighters.
