Crude Awakening
One of the most spectacular art installations at Burning Man 2007 was "Crude Awakening," which featured a 90-foot tall wooden tower representing an oil derrick and nine figurative steel sculptures worshiping it from the ground. At night, fire was pumped out from the bodies. The installation was built by veteran Burning Man artists Dan Das Mann, Karen Cusolito and others.
