When the Steven Spielberg film Saving Private Ryan was released in 1998, its opening sequence--in which American soldiers storm Omaha Beach on D-Day--was landmark innovation in war cinematography because of its realism, the audio and the sense it gave viewers of what combat was really like. This LEGO version of that scene, known as Saving Private LEGO , doesn't quite capture that realism, but it does as good as one can imagine doing with LEGO bricks. The urgency is missing perhaps, but viewers can get a sense of the original, especially if they've seen it before.
