Programming ConnectR

Angle said iRobot focused on security and ease of use, in addition to the ConnectR's features, when developing the robot.

The ConnectR will automatically find the available wireless networks in range, when it's first turned on during setup, and allow its owner to choose which one to use.

An individual access code is necessary to log in to the robot from the Internet. While this can be given to guests, a privacy button on the robot still enables owners to momentarily disable remote access or turn it off completely, giving them ultimate control.
