It's Friday afternoon around 2 p.m. and the arena at the Travis County Fairgrounds where the Maker Faire Austin will be held this weekend is still mostly empty, something worth noting given that by Saturday morning at 10 a.m., more than 300 "makers" are scheduled to be ready to meet the public. Tens of thousands of people are expected for a weekend event celebrating do-it-yourself culture, hacking and design noir. How all 300-plus will be ready by Saturday morning is something a lot of people here are wondering about.
