Researchers with elephant shrew
Scientist Galen Rathbun and a crew member from the March 2006 expedition holding one of the newly discovered shrews. Rathbun says the sengis do have a mouth full of teeth, but do not bite. Weighing in at a pound and a half, the gray-faced sengi is the largest in the giant elephant shrew family.
