Hewlett-Packard, which has been doing recycling and sustainable design for many years, changed its manufacturing process so that it uses largely recycled content to make its cartridges, said John Solomon, a vice president and general manager of HP's consumer business in the U.S.
The company was able to recycle 2 million cartridges last year with no degradation in the quality of its product, he said.
