ARM Android prototype
At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday, a select few attendees got an up-close look at prototype phones using Google's Android software. Although the mocked-up handsets were of a piece with BlackBerry-like smart phones that have a full QWERTY keyboard, the ARM9 processor technology in the prototypes is actually used on lower-end, mass-market handsets, meaning the functionality being demonstrated could be done on most phones sold today.
