Small wind from Japan. Zephyr was one of many companies displaying wind turbines at WIREC 2008. Wind power is growing rapidly but most wind power comes in the form of farms of huge turbines. In Japan, Zephyr's small wind turbines are used in private houses, commercial buildings, or by local governments. A one-kilowatt turbine could be placed on the top of a high-rise building and needs to have a mounting at least 3.5 meters high. For ground-mounted installations, the turbine should be 9 meters off the ground.
