It may look like a wrinkly roll of plastic wrapping, but this is a solar cell. Global Solar Energy manufactures solar cells from a combination of materials called CIGS (copper indium gallium selenide). Unlike silicon, which is used in most rooftop panels, CIGS is flexible which means cells can be used for portable solar panels that fold up.
