Germs are everywhere, and many new goods at the International Home and Housewares Show 2008 held in Chicago this week have been designed to fight them. Also on display are inventions made to solve some of life's little problems, like bad hair days or forgetting your house keys.

In addition to its slew of quirky "As Seen on TV" products, the sprawling show introduces many items set to reach the aisles of major retailers. It is one of the world's largest displays of home goods, featuring more than 2,100 exhibitors and buyers from at least 100 countries.

This $30 toothbrush case from iTouchless contains a tiny UV light built to bust germs. Behind the travel case are $40 UV cups, each meant to keep four toothbrushes clean on the side of a sink.
