Aerogarden
AeroGrow has expanded its range of programmable plant-growing kits, which cost between $99 and $149. They can grow herbs, vegetables, and flowers in a room that lacks light. The "smart" system includes full-spectrum light and reminders for adding water and minerals. With plants' roots suspended in air, aeroponic technology from NASA is supposed to encourage growth twice as fast as in soil. DisneyWorld uses aeroponics to grow food for its restaurants.
