Can life exist on Enceladus where there is no sunlight or oxygen available? Earth provides an answer, "Yes." Methanogens, a group that is related to bacteria, are found to thrive in deep volcanic rocks along the Columbia River and are also found in Idaho Falls, similar to conditions found on Enceladus.
