"Silicon Valley is a society that drives with no rearview mirrors." Or so Nathan Myhrvold's logic goes. That's partly why he decided to fund the construction of the engine for an undisclosed amount of money. He adds that honoring the past is the best way to appreciate the foundation upon which we build to move forward.
After its public exhibition, the Difference Engine will be moved to his private collection.
