1. 2008 BMW 135i Coupe
Editors' rating: 8.9
The good: The 2008 BMW 135i combines power, handling, and decent fuel economy. The navigation system includes excellent live traffic reporting, and USB and Bluetooth cell phone support work well.
The bad: Its paddle shifters for the automatic transmission are chunky and poorly placed; styling is a little funky; the car gets pricey with a few options.
The bottom line: Although we have some minor criticisms, the 2008 BMW 135i is, overall, an excellent car to drive every day or take out on the track. It scores big in performance and cabin tech.
Price range: Base price of $34,900; review model cost $43,675
