At the radar sites for the Nike missile installations were multiple battery-control vans. Inside these vans, five Army personnel--an officer, a radio acquisitions radar operator, a computer operator, a switchboard operator, and a plotting board operator--would be in charge of ensuring that if a missile launch were necessary, they would in control of its guidance and tracking. They would use this control panel to handle their operations.
