At the height of the Nike missile program, there were as many as 12 operational sites in the San Francisco Bay Area, though only six were left up and running after the Army decommissioned the Nike Ajax missiles. On this map, the red dots are the actual missile sites, while the green dots represent the integrated fire control, otherwise known as radar, sites.
