In 1961, Fleming signed a deal with Albert R. "Cubby" Broccoli and Harry Saltzman to bring James Bond to the big screen. The first film was Dr. No, starring Connery. The movies proved so popular that Fleming's wife started calling him "Thunderbeatle," in reference to him being as rich and as famous as the Beatles.
