Shuttle backup firing room
There are several firing rooms at Kennedy Space Center's launch control center, and they are much like the mission control centers NASA has at Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The firing rooms are home to computer systems for the many engineers involved in a rocket launch. This is Firing Room 2, which is outfitted for shuttle launches, though it is not the main room NASA would staff for a launch. The big windows in the front, when uncovered, allow those inside to see both launching pads at Kennedy Space Center.
