Parachute's main booster
The parachute operations center at KSC manufactures and manages most of the parachutes used to bring the boosters of the space shuttle, and eventually, the Constellation rockets, back to terra firma.

Here, a parachute that's used on one of the shuttle's solid rocket boosters is being worked on. The entire parachute is 136 feet long, and the three of these that are used with the shuttle can take up 2 full acres when laid out.
