Photos: A century of tanks

This M1A1 Abrams 120mm-gun main battle tank is painted to look like the first tank of its kind that entered Baghdad after the start of the current war in Iraq. The tank had a four-person crew, weighed 130,000 pounds, and had a top speed of 42 mph and a range of 289 miles. It had an M256 120mm smooth-bore gun, two M240 7.62 machine guns, an M2 .50 caliber machine gun, and two smoke grenade projectors.
