One of the top inventions was called SPARK; this one is the HEAT. That's short for HMMWV Egress Assistance Trainer. (HMMWV itself is an abbreviation for High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. You know it better as the Humvee.)
What you see here is a mockup of a Humvee cabin, with gunner's turret on top, that can be spun around and then stopped at uncomfortable angles so that soldiers can train to quickly exit an upended vehicle. It is required training for soldiers serving overseas.
