As you can see, the ribbon cables were what was tying the circuit board and LCD to the battery mount. Access to a couple of ribbon cable gates could have saved the Apple iPod Nano from the junk heap.

I believe that the built in redundancy (it being subject to the "non-replaceable battery" life) of the Ipod is a disgrace in these days of so called green enlightenment. My 12 year old has his on cons... (Read the rest)
