Volkswagen entered a diesel-powered vehicle in the grueling Baja 1000 offroad race. Although it looks like a Touareg, this car has a custom-built platform with a mid-engine layout. This engine is also much bigger than the 3-liter V-6 in the production cars, although it uses similar technology. The engine is a 5.5-liter twin turbo V-12 TDI, making 550 horsepower and a stunning 625 pound-feet of torque.

- I thinks it's one of the most unique vehicle of Volkswagen not to mention yje famous Beetle. I really admire the design of the volkswagen parts integrated on this one.
