While the backside of the Kindle DX is as nondescript as that of an iPod, it masks the unit's 4GB capacity (3.3GB usable) and built-in EVDO cellular modem, which allows books and periodicals to be downloaded in under a minute, without the need to seek out a Wi-Fi hotspot.
