The centerpiece of the afternoon's announcements was the new GeForce 8800GTX graphics card. Nvidia's Ujesh Desai, general manager of the desktop GPU business at Nvidia, explained that the new cards take advantage of unified shader technology to assign idle transistors to tasks that require extra effort.
