The curtains are up at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. It's an especially important year for automakers who are trying to plug the flow of red ink while meeting the demand for more enronmentally friendly vehicles.
General Motors hopes to shock the world with its new all-electric concept car, the Chevrolet Volt. It has a range of 40 city miles after a six-hour charge from a household electrical outlet.
