You wouldn't normally associate names like Revolver, Scratch and Puzzle with car safety but that's what some designers called their entries in the 2007 Michelin Design Challenge exhibit at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. The theme of the annual contest, which is sponsored by the Michelin Tire Company, was safety. Designers were challenged to design vehicles to protect occupants and pedestrians, and avoid accidents.
The Volvo 3CC is a three-seat electric car with doors that open by swinging upward and a floating dash panel that slides forward to assist drivers when entering or leaving the vehicle.
