On Wednesday the president traveled to chemicals giant DuPont in Wilmington, Del., which also is conducting research into cellulosic ethanol, and toured a experimentation facility accompanied by DuPont microbiologist Armando Byrne (left) and U.S. Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman (right).

"We must continue investing in new methods of producing ethanol using everything from wood chips to grasses, to agricultural wastes," Bush said in Tuesday evening's State of the Union address.
