On Monday night, CompUSA hosted a Midnight Madness event where the first copies of the highly anticipated Microsoft Vista were made available for retail. Along with Vista, a number of products sold for less than $10, including a free 350 Bluetooth Headset, a discounted Canon Photo Printer, and a Bluetooth Class 2 USB Adapter.

Before the doors opened at 10:01 p.m., approximately 40 people were lined up on the red carpet outside of CompUSA in San Francisco. The San Francisco Market street location was one of six Comp USA locations holding the promotion. Best Buy and Circuit City also held similar events in more than 30 locations nationwide.
