Jobs and Nicoli
Apple CEO Steve Jobs (left) and EMI Group Chairman Eric Nicoli on Monday announced a deal to make digital tunes available via the iTunes store without controversial copyright protections. The music files, which also are expected to feature higher sound quality, will go on sale in May. They'll cost more, too: $1.29 each, compared with the traditional 99 cents for songs on iTunes. The lower-cost songs will remain available, complete with digital rights management (DRM) anticopying technology.
