Ferris State University's team took first place in this year's Rube Goldberg Machine Contest held on Saturday. The goal of the national competition is to come up with the most complicated process for executing a simple task.

Here, Ferris State students cheer on their machine dubbed the Toy Factory, which squeezed juice from an orange and poured it into a glass in 345 steps. James Travis III (pictured at left) and Matt Tomaszewski (at right) celebrate a successful run of their machine, which was centered around many familiar toys, at the competition. It was the team's first win.
