Intel demonstrated its teraflop research chip during Chief Technology Officer Justin Rattner's keynote address. The 80-core chip is a prototype designed to get Intel engineers thinking about how to build processors with dozens of cores, and it's capable of performing more than a trillion floating-point operations per second.
