Netvibes, which makes a single-page aggregator (or "metagator"), on Monday announced the launch of its "Netvibes Universes" project at the Web 2.0 Expo. Netvibes Universes allows content creators to create custom Netvibes aggregation pages. What's new is that content owners can now customize the look and feel of their pages, and publish them as standalone Web pages with semifriendly URLs.

Netvibes has signed up more than 100 publishing partners, including recording artists like Mandy Moore and 50 Cent, and major media companies like Forbes Time, USA Today, and The Washington Post.

Here's how Forbes can look using Netvibes Universes. (Click to the next page to compare it with the actual Forbes Web site.)
