The original Pac-Man arcade game from Namco (now Namco Bandai) was released in the United States in 1980, and it hadn't received any updates in more than 26 years. That changed Tuesday, when Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani made an announcement in conjunction with the first-ever Xbox 360 Pac-Man World Championships in New York. A new, next-generation version of the game, Pac-Man: Championship Edition , will be downloadable on Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade store at 2 a.m. PDT on Wednesday.
