Editors' rating: 7.7
The good: Five identical, flat-screen-friendly speakers, each with six woofers and one tweeter; heavy-duty five-way binding posts; wall-mount brackets are included; 12-inch, 250-watt powered subwoofer.
The bad: The lack of table stands means you're forced to mount the speakers or invest in the optional floor stands; the speakers--and especially the subwoofer--are larger than many competing lifestyle-friendly speaker systems.
The bottom line: Cerwin-Vega refers to itself as "the loud speaker company," and its extraordinary CVHD 5.1 system makes good on that promise--but the lack of included stands will mean an extra expense for most users.
