Arturo Bejar

Google, Yahoo and Microsoft each agreed to give CNET News.com an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at their operations and strategies for our special report on the state and future of security on the Web.

Arturo Bejar holds the title of "Chief Paranoid Yahoo" and leads the core security team, whose members are known as "Paranoids."

"A lot of people have preconceptions about talking to the security guy. When you're talking to a Paranoid, it has a different feel," said Bejar, who came up with the name about eight years ago.

That informality--or at least the perception of it--is particularly important to Yahoo, whose goal is to be the most consumer-friendly of all the companies at the forefront of creating security standards in the Digital Age.
